4066 Head Worn Omni
The DPA 4066 offers clean and transparent sound quality with lots of headroom. Known for its pristine sound and durability, it has been the chosen headset mic for broadcasters, theaters on Broadway, and in many auditorium and lecture halls for many years.
The headset construction is unique, the mic boom is detachable from the headset mount to enable switching it to either the left or right side of the wearer. It is also built to withstand rough environments, humidity, often an issue in theatrical applications, is not a problem due to the double-vent protection system and a ‘sweat drop stopper’ on the microphone boom. The materials inside the mic are also water resistant to a degree.
The microphone’s sensitivity is 6 mV/Pa. This matches the level of the human voice to the general input sensitivity of most wireless transmitters. If powered correctly, the microphone can handle very high sound pressure levels up to 144 dB SPL before clipping occurs.
